Hello everyone. Donald Trump, US president, has touched down in Ireland just after 20 past 8:00 this morning. Air Force One landed in Dublin Airport, and he was greeted off the plane by Simon Harris. Remember Simon Harris called Trump an awful girl. I don't know if those words were used as he descended onto the tarmac at Dublin Airport. And in tow was Helen McEntee, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who's tasked now with the trying whatever's left of Irish neutrality to serve the.
Interests of those warmongers. Now, at the same time, we've seen Trump head off on his big cavalcade to the Phoenix Park, where he went firstly to Aras an Uachtarain to meet Catherine Connolly. Catherine Connolly greeted him with a warm smile. And a very safe pair of hands for the establishment, isn't Catherine Connolly? Before he then got a guard of honor at the side and went up the road to Farmleigh to meet Micheál Martin.
Now, Phoenix Park has been locked down over the last couple of days. I think it's due to reopen about 6:00 this evening. And he was greeted at Farmleigh by Micheál Martin. Of course, a very servile lapdog for the ruling classes and European Union branch manager as well. He's greeted by him and his wife before he went inside for a few minutes, and then invited the assembled press along to ask a few questions. He was asked a question as well outside.
Aras an Uachtarain around home heating oil. He said, "Is there anything that can be done around the 40% increase for home heating oil for the people of Ireland?" He said, "Well, drill, baby, drill." That's what Trump said, isn't it, in the North Sea? Great solution to the chaos that's been caused in the Middle East following the US's and Israel's war with the skyrocketing energy costs. But, we won't say anything about that because that goes against the narrative being.
Pushed by so much of the media. Not to mention the massive taxation we see in fuel as well in Ireland. But, he spoke about the war and he said the war will end soon after the midterm elections. Very precise, isn't it? This is more of the same typical response from the US. Ceasefires, pauses, and all this type of stuff. Playing their friends with private equity to make big wins in the market while ordinary people suffer with skyrocketing fuel and energy.

He said oil prices will tumble and tumble down when this happens. But, we know he's under pressure because of what's taking place in America with the midterm elections. And any, whether it's red or blue, it doesn't really matter. Continuity of agenda continues regardless of who's in Congress or who's in the White House. And he also went on to speak about what.
Was happening in Gaza. And he said that the US has put out the fire in Gaza. And uh never mentioned anything about the horrific and destructive attacks on Gaza have taken place as well uh in terms of the horrific uh genocide that's taking place in that area as well. So, we won't say anything about that either in this commentary by the Irish political and media elites. Micheál Martin, of course, sat there. He spoke about the economic relationship,.
Didn't say anything about uh to to really rock the boat. And that's that typical what you would expect from a servile lapdog. Again, totally beholden to US multinationals, to the foreign direct investment, and to the big corporate agenda of the US. He also went on to speak about, you know, a united Ireland. And he said he supports a united Ireland. Well, we all do. Well, we support a united Ireland for and by the people, not for and by the big corporations.
So, there we have it so far. More of the same spin and deference and servile lapdog approach here in Ireland to the president of the US, which the same would happen many over a century ago when uh the colonialists and the British colonialists were here. Thus, many of those establishment hacks here in Ireland were fully behind the colonial empire agenda as well. And rather than stand up for the interest of Ireland in terms of standing up.
For our domestic resources, our industries, they're more likely to be just lapdogs for any master that comes to Ireland, including Trump, or whether it be Biden, or any of these either who push this agenda for the US corporations. And we can see what's happening with this imperial agenda. But, this is the start of the visit. And there is big protest being organized. He said he wasn't aware of any protests. He was here for the golf, but he's going to head off to Doonbeg.

Uh I'm sure his golf cousin and entourage and all those won't be worrying too much about the prices of fuel at the petrol pumps hitting well over €2 a liter now for diesel in Ireland. But, um and the price of crude oil going through the roof as well. But, this is what's taking place in Ireland today. And I'll keep you posted to any.
