Hello everyone
Hello everyone. Over 300,000 public sector workers have taken to the picket lines right across Ireland today. This is the largest public sector strike in over 20 years since the days of the devastating austerity and the bank bailout that was forced upon the people of Ireland. And remember the language coming from many of those political parties that claimed they were against what was happening during that period. Who relented? Remember the Labour Party for instance who said that would be Labour's way, a.
Frankfurt way. And what happened? Well, we all know. They implemented so much devastating austerity sold out the ordinary working people and bailed out the bankers and bond holders. And here we are now in 2026 with many ordinary workers in the public service struggling with the cost of living disaster, accommodation crisis. Many are exploited. Many are vastly underpaid. And so many services are vastly under-resourced and understaffed. Now, at the same time we've heard the language coming from the union leaders.
About looking for pay agreement to say the 1.2 billion euro was not enough that was put aside in the most recent budget by Simon Harris and Jack Chambers, the Minister for Public Expenditure and remember digitalization. Digital ID Minister himself he's the one who swanned off on a very expensive Patrick's Day junket and also is a signed up member to the secret of Bilderberg Group which he attended in recent months. So, Jack Chambers no friend of the ordinary worker here in Ireland.
And much the same as the union leadership we've seen the union leadership capitulate on many times in the past. Many of these are very highly paid officials who are really detached from the lives of so many of the ordinary working members. And following the fuel protest in April, the decision was made to look for strike action because the unions, to a massive extent, have been essentially impotent for many, many years because they've compromised with the establishment under.
The so-called social partnership. And also because the Industrial Relations Act, which really destroys the power of workers by having to ask the government in advance if they can strike. And of course, the government can then injunct them and take uh high court action against them to stop strikes as well and look for various derogations on strikes also. And remember, it was the ordinary workers in the main who drove this because they're the ones who are struggling with.
The cost of living disaster
The cost of living disaster. Many young teachers and nurses are emigrating. Most recently, the National Youth Council reported that seven out of 10 young people want I think you have leaving Ireland. This at the same time where we have a mass immigration chaos going on and so much pressure on services and resources. And pay is paramount in terms of what so many of those workers are being paid. But also, what's important is the resourcing of the basic public services. We've seen so.
Many being understaffed, under-resourced, run down as part of the bigger, wider neoliberal agenda being driven by this Irish government that Jack Chambers is a member of as no interest in representing workers. We're throwing you crumbs at the table. And I'm buying off a few of his high-ranking union officials around this in terms of looking for some form of agreement. But remember, don't be fooled by the political establishment and their closeness with the union leadership. Let's see how this develops.
Over the next period of time because it's important that this is driven forward for workers, by workers, not by highly paid, overpaid fat cats in the unions on their big salaries who were part of a cozy cartel with the Irish government. So, let's see how this plays out because already Micheál Martin has said today that the tone in this position of Forsa leader or chief official or chief executive officer, whatever you want to call him, Kevin Callinan, has been positive in.
Terms of looking for negotiations and looking towards a a agreement, an agreement. So, let's see how this develops over the next number of days and let's see how it moves forward. But, remember this should be driven forward by the ordinary workers, many of those who were on low pay, who were struggling, who were being massively, massively under attack for many years by successive governments' policies and will continue to be attacked moving forward over the next number of months and years as well. And.
Remember, the man who's trying to negotiate this is Jack Chambers. Jack Chambers, as I said earlier, member of the part of the Bilderberg Group, driving digital ID, and just a puppet that's pushing this bigger globalist agenda. So, workers should stand up and all workers should stand up. And what would be fantastic to see would be a national strike where everybody comes together, private and public sector workers, and those who are unable to work for various reasons as well, who.
Are left behind in our society, need to take
Are left behind in our society, need to take our labor power and say no. And that's essentially where the power comes from, withdrawing your labor and standing up against those who are doing very well from so many manufactured crises that benefit the corrupt political establishment in Ireland. So, we need to take back our power, and that starts with the ordinary workers. And I stood on the picket lines with numbers of workers today, and uh fair play to.
“Are left behind in our society, need to take our labor power and say no”
Them all. Many from local parks department and many other departments as well, who are struggling with the cost of living disaster. This comes at the same time in Ireland to remember, the richest 10% 50% of the wealth, and two billionaires have the same wealth as with 50 40 50% of the total population. Absolutely the obscene when you consider what's taking place in our society, where they try and throw a few crumbs at the workers' table. Well, it's time.
We take the cake and not the crumbs. Thanks a lot for all the support of my videos. Really appreciate them. And from Dublin today, solidarity and up the workers. Take care. Solidarity.
