Hello everyone
Hello everyone. Over the last week, we've seen the political and media backlash in relation to the fuel protests which took place following the extortionate increases in fuel and energy costs. This precipitated a motion of no confidence in the Irish government which subsequently became a motion of confidence brought forward by the government that they won. And we all know about the political fallout where the Healy-Rae's stepped away from government. But the Irish government were supported by their typical Larry.
Lucky independents who also stated that they would support him through good and bad days. Well, there you have it. We all know who they fully represent. Not that we many of us knew already and have answered this. But let's go into a few comments that have been made in the last number of days by Leo Varadkar, ex-Irish Taoiseach. He was speaking on Matt Cooper's podcast in relation to amplifying the calls for the divide in Irish society.
Is that interesting? Who would have thought Leo Varadkar would be pushing for more division in society to maintain the status quo? The old divide and rule tactics being pushed by the political establishment. It's the same old tired mantra being pushed by them. And hopefully more and more people aren't still falling for this nonsense. He was trying to push this rural versus urban divide to say that urban Ireland pays for rural Ireland. And he also said that.
The interests of Ireland are not the interests of rural Ireland. Is that interesting? He is a fully signed up member for pushing the globalist agenda. For pushing the neoliberal agenda. Supporting as well the Mercosur deal which is going to be a race to the bottom and bring substandard, poor quality food into the European and Irish market. All right, to benefit the German car manufacturers and the big oligarchs.
But for our car, we'll always pit people ordinary working people against each other, whether urban or rural. And many who are struggling getting by day-to-day. And we all know about the history in Ireland, the history for struggle through the land. The history in most recent times in terms of the destruction of small farmers in terms of the context of the move towards the big beef barons like Larry Goodman. Over 90% of the beef produced in Ireland is exported.
And notwithstanding we import 80% of our food
And notwithstanding we import 80% of our food. And this is due to successive government decisions that have destroyed any notion of having food security on the island of Ireland. You think they would have learned from a century and a half ago and beyond in terms of having food security and self-sufficiency and supporting many many local producers and farmers. Which which of course translate then towards security for the general population.
And now when we see so much economic turmoil around the world and political strife increasing day by day particularly in the Middle East. The Irish government have responded by looking for more of the same and the same as for our car. Now it's interesting because behind me is the old Dublin fruit markets. Famous part of Dublin city. Which is synonymous since the late 18th century with big parts of Dublin and so many of the surrounding streets as well. Where.
Many many local fruit and veg shops all around the Dublin city would come in every morning and pick the fruit and veg and then distribute them to the shops in various locations all around Dublin. But now, this has been lying idle since 2019. And then, just in the last few months, the Dublin City Council have decided to for a 25 million euro market refurbishment project.
And what will it become? Well, I'm sure it's part of the gentrification process, isn't it? All the working classes in so much of this community has been edged out because of successive government policies. This ties into the whole issues of energy and food security. Because as I said, this supplied so much for Dublin city for years. And now has been neglected and completely destructed in around Dublin.
But, at the same time, we hear the comments coming from Varadkar saying the interests of Ireland aren't the interests of our own food security. It's all about these so-called global trade agreements and importing more and more food from abroad, while at the same time, 90% of the beef, as I said in theory, that we produce here are exported. And as you see the bigger globalist agenda taking place in Ireland, you see so many of these on the media who are.
Call who are really amplifying the demands for more
Call who are really amplifying the demands for more globalization and less practical self-sufficiency and security and building a real resilience society. So, this is what's taking place in Ireland and this nonsense of the rural versus the urban divide. The uh only working people stand together. We stand together with small farmers. Stand together with people who are struggling in other parts of Ireland, urban Ireland as much as rural Ireland. We're all interconnected.
So, it's not this nonsense that these pay more, they pay less and all this nonsense. It's always been used for years, even by Beyond the Broke Car. It's been used by the political establishment in Ireland, by many of those so-called independents to say they get so many services up here, we don't get anything in their place, and all this type of nonsense. But at the same time, we see the destruction of basic public services, the destruction of.
Basic facilities such as post offices, a lack of transport infrastructure, lack of even clean water in many parts of Ireland. And also in terms of the mantra being pushed by the political establishment around to keep people at each other's throats rather than uniting. And that's interesting because in the last week, even times I spent down with those protests in over the last week, it was working class uh Dublin women from many flat complexes around the inner city in Dublin, not too far from.
Here, that came down and supported those who were out in the streets from all walks of life and from all parts of Ireland. So, uh don't fall for the nonsense. Don't fall for the absolute spin that's >> coming from the mainstream media and look behind the reality of what's taking place. The so-called gentrification project here at the fruit market. And as I said, many of these streets around here as we just stroll up were alive and trans with.
People coming in every day selling their produce, coming in from North County areas like North County Dublin, famous for market gardening. We all know of some scary rush many parts of North Dublin where land was sold and um big housing developments took precedence over uh years and years of generations of farmers. Areas that constantly were farmed for years.
And a lot of parts of uh not just
And a lot of parts of uh not just North County Dublin but South and West Dublin also. Well, all we have now is a lot of empty dereliction deliberately. And of course we just take a stroll down here on Arran Street East just off Capel Street in Dublin North Inner City. Now we see is a fancy hotels fill up.
So uh this is what's taking place really behind the scenes. And the pressure as well on infrastructure, on services. And that is happy that we have the uncontrolled uh mass immigration agenda which is uh creating big issues in Ireland as well. And it was particularly working class communities because of erosion of services. And so it's tied in together, essentially, into the bigger picture of what's taking place.
“And so it's tied in together, essentially, into the bigger picture of what's taking place”
So, again, nonsense coming from Leo Varadkar, which you'd expect from a man who presided over one of the worst housing disasters we ever had, homeless chaos, uh immigration chaos, health disaster. And uh of course, leaked is is a confidential not for circulation document which was palmed in the GP profession.
So, there you have it. I hope you enjoyed it and walk through as well. You can see here, so much for history, and it's essentially down to successive governments. And it's cultural vandalism, essentially. And but again, it's deeper because it's bigger emphasis of sort of gentrification. And cleansing, essentially, working class communities from parts of Dublin which have big impacts on terms of the bigger picture. And I don't fall for this nonsense being pursued by the Irish political establishment because.
Ordinary working peo- people stand together, no matter what part of Ireland we're in. As Brendan Behan said, there's good hearts in every corner of Ireland. And ordinary working people need to stand together. It's what's taking place currently against the globalist agenda. And that ties into what takes place, for instance, in and around uh towns and villages up and down the country. You want to see the uniqueness of those towns, you want to see the individuality, you want to support the.
Local businesses, local local farmers and not this soulless
Local businesses, local local farmers and not this soulless dystopia that they want us to well become disconnected from our history, disconnected from our place, disconnected from our soil, our heritage, and our culture. So, thanks so much for supporting my videos and thanks for subscribing as well. So, I hope you enjoyed the little walk around this area and I just want to give a bit of context to what's taking place currently in Ireland. So, Dublin.
So long for now. Take care. See you soon.
