  • A high-powered car was driven at people and then reversed towards them — it’s “really amazing” nobody was killed, Dooley says — with two women and one man reported to be receiving hospital treatment.
  • The political response, he argues, has been “absolutely none” beyond the politics of condemnation — McEntee, Jim O’Callaghan and company doing walkabouts declaring the streets safe while Dublin falls apart, and a media he calls captured by the political classes unlikely to report what took place.
  • He points to years of disinvestment in working-class communities and community policing — yet armed Gardaí and the Emergency Response Unit close off Dame Street for visiting dignitaries during Micheál Martin’s EU presidency — and predicts Skerries, like Killarney last week, gets brushed under the carpet “until something bigger happens” or, God forbid, somebody dies.

Everyone, this courage of lawlessness is spreading like a contagion right across our country. Now, the latest violent scenes were witnessed in Skerries, a village in North County Dublin on Saturday night around half nine. There was violent attacks running street battles between gangs of mainly young men alongside many backgrounds and ethnicities also in terms of what took place in Skerries a normally quiet part of North County Dublin. A beautiful coastal village used to be a fishing port.

And last night it witnessed some violent scenes. And it's really amazing that nobody was killed because at one point there was a car, a high-powered vehicle was being driven on people and it was reversed as well towards people as well. And what's been reported is that there's two females being treated in hospital alongside one male.

Now we talked with would be with anybody who was caught up with what took place last night on what was a beautiful sunny summer's evening. Normally a quiet place but yes, we had these gang gangs of marauding youths wreaking havoc essentially on the streets. And at one point, there was a big brawl alongside the keys and scaries.

But, let's get on to the political response. Well, it's been absolutely none. And is that really surprising? They don't want to talk about these things. Anybody who's walked around the city in the last few years has seen Dublin fall apart. You've seen McEntee and Jim O'Callaghan and all these people do this go walks up and down the street to say everywhere is safe when it's anything but.

You've seen a lot of violent assaults, attacks, murders. And the government continue to bury their heads in the sand around the issues that they themselves have created the conditions for. So, what's the political response? Next to nothing. Probably the politics of condemnation. They'll not look at the underlying reasons and move on.

Much the same as the media, who won't probably report on this as well in terms of what actually took place. But, nothing new with media, who have been completely captured by the the political classes. When you see this taking place, it really beggars belief to what our country is becoming. These places where people could generally go and enjoy the scenery, a swim, a walk up by the seaside, a walk down the keys.

“But, nothing new with media, who have been completely captured by the the political classes”

I meet friends. I'll be coming. No go zones. That's what they want Ireland to become and Dublin to become. Areas that are essentially off limits. And it's hitting areas now that they wouldn't have expected this to hit in the past. But this is part of political choices and all the people who have supported these political choices by voting in certain ways with parties. And they agree with a lot of the policies and yes until something happens in their back.

Door, they then start getting up in arms around us rather than looking at the wider societal issues. There's been many working class areas that have been decimated because of lack of investment in communities for years and years and years. And now at the same time there's a lack of investment in community policing. But yes, we see loads of Gardai. The armed unit. Emergency response unit.

All closing off Dame Street when the great and the good inverted commas come and visit Dublin. When Micheal Martin is the European Union president. Now I always portray portray the good image outwardly. Don't look at the reality facing Ireland and Dublin in terms of the issues. But we brush it under the carpet. Move on. Nothing to see here.

That's really terrific. In terms of the things that took place last night, which is the same as last week. They moved on from the story in Killarney and move on from the story too as well and brush under the carpet until something bigger happens or God forbid somebody dies because of uh these gang battles that have taken place. So, again, thanks so much for the support for my videos and thanks again from Dublin. So, take care. Bye-bye.

Violence erupts in “quiet” Skerries — and the political response is “absolutely none”.

Running street battles between gangs of mainly young men break out on a sunny Saturday evening in Skerries, a normally quiet coastal village in North County Dublin, with a car driven at people and three reported in hospital. Dooley argues lawlessness is spreading like a contagion while a silent political class and a captured media brush yet another story under the carpet.
