  • The backdrop: the British government announces a social media ban for under-16s from early 2027, Micheál Martin calls social media “the public health issue of our time”, and Coimisiún na Meán — “Ireland’s Ministry of Truth”, in Dooley’s rendering, “very Orwellian, isn’t it?” — publishes the Digital News Report Ireland 2026, finding 42% of those surveyed trust most news most of the time.

  • The under-16 clampdown is “essentially” a digital ID for accessing social media — facial recognition technology among the methods — and Dooley argues the establishment is scared because social media has massively democratized speech; meanwhile 47% of people now avoid news, up from 41% last year, and the report was commissioned by Coimisiún na Meán and weighted, he notes, towards EU-funded universities like DCU — home to a future media, democracy and society department, with money flowing via the European Digital Media Observatory.
  • He closes on Orwell — Newspeak and revised history, which Ireland “already had” when Micheál Martin said there was no bank bailout, from a government whose austerity saddled the country with over 43% of total European banking debt — and on Patrick O’Donovan, the minister introducing the measures, unable, Dooley says, to answer a basic question as his “globalist masters” come to town for Ireland’s EU presidency.

Hello everyone

Hello everyone. The clampdown on social media is gathering pace in Ireland. Now, in the last couple of days we've seen the announcement by the British government that they're going to introduce this social media ban for under 16s from early 2027. And in response, Micheál Martin said that social media was the public health issue of our time. Interestingly enough, a new report was issued today from Commission on Man. That is also known as Ireland's Ministry of Truth. It's very Orwellian, isn't it?

This comes as the digital news Ireland report 2026 was published. And it came out and said that 42% of people who were part of the survey can trust most news most of the time. Now, this is not not really surprising in Ireland where it's so heavily propagandized in terms of the media. We all know already that RTÉ have been given 725 million over the next 3 years to pursue the government's agenda, which is the same as many more media outlets.

From the print and also from television as well. Now, interestingly enough with this report, it stated that 71% of people see RTÉ and local radio as trusted news sources. Couldn't make this up, could you? Also at the same time, they said local newspapers are 69%. The Irish Times comes in at 69% where people actually trust it. And the Irish Independent around 68%.

Wait for it. Most of the funding or a lot of the funding that goes to these newspapers and radio companies come from direct advertising through corporations, but also on top of that, they get massive funding through Coimisiún na Meán, Ireland's truth ministry. Is that interesting? Let's pursue the government's narrative. This is at the same time where they're trying to clamp down on social media use for under 16s, which essentially is going to be a digital ID.

For accessing social media in terms of facial recognition technology and other forms to access basic social media. I know they are all scared because social media to a massive extent has democratized speech. And now this is about shutting off these avenues for people to get dissenting voices and to get the real news out there. Also, they have reported that 47% of people now avoid news, up from 41% last year here in Ireland.

But the agenda of the Coimisiún na Meán is

But the agenda of the Coimisiún na Meán is to navigate the complex and fragmented news ecosystem. And they said that 42% of people have a positive view of public service media on their lives. Interesting enough, maybe this is all Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil voters. Is it maybe those Lowry lucky independents as well? Interesting enough, they always say it's news you can trust and it's time to discover proper environment for news where people can trust their news.

Sources and not be open to misinformation or disinformation or malinformation or whatever they try and claim themselves, which is part of their propaganda. And at the same time, this report was commissioned by Coimisiún na Meán, Ireland's truth ministry, and heavily funded and weighted towards various universities such as Dublin City University, which has a future media, democracy, and society department, and which has been funded through the European Union. Surprise, surprise, surprise. They got massive amounts of funding.

Through the European Digital Media Observatory. Uh interesting enough, and also through the media and information fund of the European Union. Is this really surprising? This has happened at the same time where they're trying to clamp down on freedom of speech, alternative voices, and to move towards funding these reputable journalists, or so they claim, essentially prostitutes for the political classes. There's next to no journalism in the mainstream media. We all know that as well. But at the same time,.

People are switching off from it, and the trust is falling. But what's the answer? Clamp down on dissenting voices, clamp down on the truth, and clamp out down on on the real information getting out to people. As people look to various social media platforms for the real news, and make up their own minds, become critically aware. So, it's very Orwellian, isn't it, in terms of this drive towards the Ministry of Truth, to drive the propaganda of the.

Corrupt political establishment, so people can believe in their doctrines. Perhaps they'll start a new language, like George Orwell spoke about in 1984, around Newspeak, and maybe start revising history. We already had that here in Ireland, didn't we, when Micheál Martin said there was no bank bailout in Ireland. If you all remember, Martin was part of that government that brought in absolutely devastating horrors upon the people of Ireland that led to devastating austerity, which saddled country with over 43% of the total.

European banking debt

European banking debt. So, lying is nothing new to these people. This is par for the course for many of these corrupt politicians who have no interest in serving the people of Ireland and only lackeys for a bigger globalist agenda. We all know who that represents, not the interests of ordinary working people. So, please share my videos and thanks so much for all the support. And please speak out yourself on what's going on in Irish society. No fall for.

The nonsense they try and spin with these cobbled together reports which are all about suit an agenda. And at the same time, Patrick O'Donovan, the minister whose task when introducing this is unable to answer a basic question on what's taking place in Ireland because he's only interested in being good a good lad for his globalist masters when they come to town over the next number of months as Ireland becomes the European Council presidency. Thanks so much for the support. Really.

Appreciate it and please subscribe to my channel. So, Dublin tonight, it's Longford. See you later.

Ireland’s “Ministry of Truth”: trust in news falls as the social media clampdown gathers pace.

As Britain announces a social media ban for under-16s and Micheál Martin declares social media “the public health issue of our time”, Coimisiún na Meán — the regulator Dooley dubs Ireland’s “Ministry of Truth” — publishes the Digital News Report Ireland 2026. Dooley argues the state-funded trust figures and the under-16 clampdown, with its facial-recognition digital ID, are two arms of one Orwellian drive to shut off the dissenting voices social media has democratized.
