Hi everyone
Hi everyone. The veil and mask are slipping from the European Union. They claim they stand up for democracy, freedom, and values, and all this nonsense that they keep pushing down the throats of people ad nauseam. When they're acting in a completely different direction, direction towards totalitarianism, and total control of all of its citizens. And I want to bring you to your attention today a vote that was held in the European Parliament on last Thursday, July the 9th, in connection.
With extending chat control 1.0. This allows a temporary suspension of the European Union's e-privacy rules that allows tech platforms to mass scan citizens' private communications. Wait for it, to detect child sexual abuse material. Well, that's what they're claiming that they want to protect people around. But, wait for it, this is about organizing and working with big tech companies to scan private communications between citizens of the European Union.
And wait for it, many of these big tech organizations are working in cahoots with European Union around this. And this was adopted and pushed forward by Roberta Metsola, the president of the European Parliament. Now, a couple of weeks ago, she was in Dublin at the big launch of Ireland's European Union presidency with Micheál Martin. And she's also one of the leading figures in the European People's Party that Fine Gael are strong members of also in Europe.
Now, she brought this forward under what they call an urgent procedure. Now, this is an obscure part of the rules of the European Parliament which was brought forward. Despite so many members of the European Parliament being on holidays, this was brought forward to extend this chat control 1.0 up until April 2028 when they're going to continue negotiations over the next couple of years to push forward an even stricter regime, chat control 2.0 where it makes it mandatory to scan all private.
Communications between citizens. But, it even gets more sinister because in the last number of days this vote was held and essentially 314 members of the European Parliament voted to reject it and 276 voted in favor of continuing the temporary suspension of the privacy rules under chat control 1.0. Now, this is despite the European Parliament having voted this down a number of occasions and it required an absolute majority which was over 361 members of European Parliament to take this forward. And obviously, in.
The time of holidays, so many members of European
The time of holidays, so many members of European Parliament weren't there and despite the vote essentially being pushed forward, this was more of the same nonsense being pushed by the European Union as it drives towards a totalitarian superstate. And it even gets more sinister because in the last number of months, Metsola has been visiting Silicon Valley, talking with many of these big tech organizations and notwithstanding this has been fully supported by the vast majority of Irish.
Elected members of the European Parliament. So, let's name those members of European Parliament such as Barry Andrews of Fianna Fáil who supported Lynn Boylan of Sinn Féin, Nina Carberry of Fine Gael, Barry Cowen of Fianna Fáil, and Seán Kelly of Fine Gael, Maria Walsh of Fine Gael, Liadh Ní Riada of the Labour Party, Ciarán Cuffe and Liadh Ní Riada also of Fianna Fáil, and wait for it, some other members voted against. Actually, Ciarán Cuffe voted in favor of this as well to.
Continue the suspension of um the e-privacy rules as well of so-called independent Ireland. It was voted against by one member of the Irish European Parliament of Michael McNamara who's a MEP for Ireland South, and a number of MEPs weren't even in attendance such as I think Luke Ming Flanagan and Kathleen Funchion of Sinn Féin weren't in attendance to this vote. But, wait for it, it's coming through the holiday season, so many won't be even aware of what's.
“Continue the suspension of um the e-privacy rules as well of so-called independent Ireland”
Taking place. But, this has major ramifications for our privacy, for our basic rights, and they who proclaim to stand up for democracy, freedom, and values are moving further and further away from it in terms of tackling private communications between citizens of European Union on the remit again, surprise, surprise, of protecting children. Isn't this what it's all about, isn't it? Much the same as the amount of children who are here in homelessness in Ireland waiting for a basic medical treatment.
And medical interventions, not to mention special needs assessment as well, and so many children are struggling across Ireland and right across Europe. But, that doesn't matter to people like von der Leyen and Roberta Metsola. And uh wait for it, didn't von der Leyen herself raise her text messages and conversations she had with Albert Bourla about the multi-billion euro deal around the Pfizer contracts, but we'll say nothing about that anymore because one rule for them and another.
Rule for private citizens
Rule for private citizens. So the mass surveillance state is on its way in Europe and this is what's taking place. So be aware and please keep sharing my videos and stand up against the shambolic destruction of basic rights and democracy here in Europe. Take care. It's Sandi Toksvig.
