Hello everyone
Hello everyone. Euro reported today that electricity prices in Ireland are the highest in Europe. They're 40% above the European average. Now, this report only comprise results up to the end of 2025. And already this year, we're going to see massive increases in electricity costs. Already Prepaid Power have said they're going to increase costs by 9% in the next number of days and this is going to be the first of many of these electricity providers who are going to.
Make massive profits and also from the increase costs following on from the war in the Middle East. Now the cabinet have it in hands. They're going to discuss this issue about spiraling bills. Already we've seen protests in Ireland in relation to the extortionate increases in fuel costs, but now the Irish governments are going to respond. Don't hold your breath. More of the same. I've covered this in quite a number of videos about the privatization model that has been followed.
Liberalization essentially of the market in Ireland where previously before so-called privatization and breaking up of many forms of the electricity providers and network and so forth as well uh to make massive massive windfalls. We had the lowest prices in Europe and now we have the highest prices in Europe officially really about 500 euro above the European average. Interesting enough the RSI has come out with a report in the last couple of days as well to say that €480.
Euro would take people out of fuel poverty and those who are most at risk of what's taking place. Now currently in Ireland there's 320,000 households in electricity rears and 30% of the population are in fuel poverty. Now fuel poverty is where you spend over 10% of your income on energy. So this is more of the same from the Irish government enrich their big friends while ordinary people suffer and at the same time they have a plan as I said.
It's the national energy affordability task force which isn't due to report until the end of this year. This was brought forward in 2025 to deal with the net zero agenda and the climate agenda that the uh European Union is driving on everybody. Now this is around looking at price, demand, affordability and uh the drive towards nuclear. Now demand I've spoken in previous videos about the energy lockdowns that are coming in terms of what's taking place right across Europe.
But big issue is going nuclear
But big issue is going nuclear. This is part of the agenda being driven by the world economic forum also the European Union and Mihal Martin who himself was Armenian the last couple of days speaking about the virtues of going nuclear now it's not about serving the needs of ordinary people it's about serving the needs of big business and the data center is much the same as one behind me here massive one Amazon web services up here in Tala on the boat.
Now they pay half the amount per kilowatt hour as an average householder. Householders pay about 40 cent per kilowatt hour. The data centers pay less than 20 cent per kilowatt hour. absolutely extortionate uh in terms of what householders will pay and also in terms of network charges where they only pay less than a cent per kilowatt hour where ordinary householders pay nearly seven times that seven to nearly just 8 cent and network charges per kilowatt hour. So, we're paying for the increased.
Grid because of the pressure that they're putting on the imploding Irish grid and 50% of the electricity needs are are needed in Dublin through data centers. these big multinationals that benefit from those policies pursued by the Irish government actually that serve the interests of the big data centers and the big corporations. Now there's a lot of cluster of these in particular around west Dublin areas like Klondaw and Tala uh other areas like Blanchestown and Clunch on the north.
Side of the city and this one is interesting because this uses a lot of water also and they diverted the river puddle along this area too because this is part of their agenda the so-called cooling systems and using so much of the water supply which is putting massive pressure on infrastructure as well. But this is nothing new with the Irish government because they only interested in big tech, big corporations at the expense of ordinary people. And.
Also it's estimated about 30% of the total electricity needs in Ireland will be needed by these data centers. Now currently it's about 22 to 23%. Even the international atomic agency energy agency rather has said that 32% of electricity is met currently by data centers and this is more of the bigger agenda and this is part of what's taking place in Ireland in terms of the processing and storage of data. It's also used by maybe international governments in terms of storing the data.
Here as well
Here as well. But we all know the drive towards AI, artificial intelligence and the drive towards digital identification which data centers are so much required for. So a bigger system at play here in Ireland. And who does it benefit? It's not ordinary people. Ordinary people are the ones that suffer and they're just beholden to the corporations. Now what do they call that? Fascism of course. And uh what's interesting with this in the last couple of years even there.
“Ordinary people are the ones that suffer and they're just beholden to the corporations”
Lobbying that's taken place in Brussels because there was a group put together by many of these big conglomerates such as Amazon, Google, Apple, Meta created this digital Europe platform to lobby against uh transparency in terms of what's taking place with the data centers and how they operate. free from any control. So, uh, as I say earlier, this is what happens when the corporations and the state work together. It's the big f word, isn't it?
And not to mention ordinary people that are struggling and suffering because of extortionate increases in electricity and energy costs as well. So, an increase on the pressure in the grid with the increase in population also in terms of the creek and infrastructure. So this is what's taking place in Dublin and right across Ireland as well and the implications this will have for the future as well. what the Irish government have in hand. We have the energy affordability task force that.
She'll report later this year. And maybe they'll throw a few more subsidies at the big energy at the big tech companies and the data centers in the context of subsidies that we all pay for them in terms of enhancing the the under pressure grid. So from Dublin this evening, take care. It's long. Thanks for so much for all the support with my videos and thanks for sharing my videos far and wide as well. And let me know.
What you think in the comments to what's taking place. And this is just to expose really what's taking place in all of our doorsteps all around our city and also all around our country as well. So take care. Strong. Bye-bye.
