  • A week of fuel protests produces a political crisis — a no-confidence motion in the government, answered by the coalition's own confidence motion in itself, after go-slows on motorways; Dooley says the state showed its “true nature” when the Garda public order unit — “the modern day black and tans” — assaulted peaceful protesters in Whitegate, Co. Cork, Micheál Martin called for the army in a “massive, massive overreach”, and the independents propping up the coalition — pledged to back the government “in good and bad times” — will, Dooley is sure, keep it standing.
  • The “significant range of measures” — €500 million in subsidies for fisheries and hauliers plus excise reductions running to 31 July, on top of a previous €250 million package — is a drop in the ocean, Dooley argues, set to be eaten away as oil passes $100 a barrel; the carbon-tax rise is only being paused until October's budget, much of the opposition backed the carbon tax in the first place, and the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council is warning over the time-limited payments — the money, he predicts, will come back as “another form of austerity”.
  • The revealing detail, for Dooley: Martin said weeks ago the measures are “part of the template” proposed by the IMF and the European Central Bank — and under the EU energy tax directive, brought forward over 20 years ago and transposed, he says, into the Finance Act of 1999, Ireland has “next to no sovereignty” over its own excise duty; a mineral oil tax is supposed to apply to aviation fuel, yet the big airlines are exempt — “it's ordinary people that pay”.
  • Whitegate refinery — built through public money, sold off in 2001 by the Fianna Fáil–Progressive Democrat government to a private American company and later to Canada's Irving Oil, which pulled in about €150 million in profits in 2023 — would sell its oil on the international market rather than to Ireland, Martin conceded; Dooley argues it should be taken under public control for the energy emergency, recalling that the same EU–ECB–IMF told Ireland not to build public housing during the bailout — the decision that “precipitated the housing disaster”.

Hi everyone

Hi everyone. The fuel protests that have enveloped Ireland over the last week have led to a political crisis here in Ireland. There is a no confidence motion being brought forward now on the Irish government following their lack of response to even meeting the fuel protesters in the first instance and also the heavy-handed approach over the last week, particularly in Whitegate, County Cork. Micheál Martin as well was calling for the army to be brought forward to deal.

With the fuel protests as well. Again, which was a massive, massive overreach by the Irish state. But they really demonstrated the true nature of the Irish state by working with their agents through the Gardaí and public order unit to assault peaceful protesters. But over the last day there has been a go-slow on many motorways around Ireland and tomorrow there will be a no confidence motion brought forward on the Irish government. So, the Irish government as well will bring forward a confidence.

Motion in themselves and I'm sure many of their Larry Lucky independents will support them in the context of keeping this coalition together. Remember Larry said at the time that he would support the government in good and bad times. So, why would anybody expect any different coming from these stooges for the globalists, which is the same as much of the opposition and also but the package that was announced is a so-called significant range of measures that was announced by the Irish.

Government is only a drop in the ocean. The 500 million euro is being offered over in terms of subsidies for fisheries, for hauliers and excise reductions until now the 31st of July. Already we've seen cuts to excise duty in the last number of weeks with the previous 250 million euro package, which is a drop in the ocean in terms of what was essentially needed and this has been completely eaten up with the fuel increases and over the last day we've seen oil.

Go over $100 a barrel. And these 500 euro million euro will be completely eaten away with these increases as well. But what's really interesting in this cuz Micheál Martin spoke at a press conference a number of weeks ago when he was speaking about putting forward these measures and he said this is part of the template being proposed by the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank. So, Ireland have next to no sovereignty about controlling our own excise duty.

And taxation measures because of the energy tax directive,

And taxation measures because of the energy tax directive, which was brought forward over 20 years ago, which was corroborated or essentially transposed into the Finance Act in 1999 as well, where the European Union decide in terms of the excise duty that is available. And this is a big part of driving towards the climate goals that they want and the low carbon drive forward through the European Union we've seen as well.

Now, what's really interesting about this and really revealing is that there's a a mineral oil tax supposed to be on aviation fuel, but wafer their example. So, the big airlines are exempt from this, but it's ordinary people that pay. And they're trying to uh pause today on the increase in the carbon tax until budget later this year in October because of all the pressures that's coming on them. And remember, much of the opposition supported this carbon tax.

“So, the big airlines are exempt from this, but it's ordinary people that pay”

In the first instance. So, uh now they're trying to uh feign concern for ordinary working people now with their no confidence motion in the government, as I said, which will be brought forward in terms of a confidence motion in the Irish government. They were bringing that forward in response to this no confidence motion. It's really like a uni-party establishment here in Ireland where you have no change to the globalist status quo and it just demonstrates the whole charade of.

Leinster House really for what it is. And Martin has come out in the last 24 hours as well and he said that extreme latitude has been given to many of these protesters and this will have to be looked at moving forward. Here we are. More police state antics by Micheál Martin, completely out of control dictator. And Harris said it was frightening scenes as well. As I'm in Harris, of course, frightening scenes for those peaceful protesters for instance being assaulted.

By the public order unit, the modern day black and tans. And Jim Jim O'Callaghan and Helen McEntee and also were at odds with each other in relation to bringing forward the army onto the streets. So, the whole coalition is a complete shambles and a complete coalition of chaos. Already the Irish financial or Irish fiscal advisory um authority council has come out and said that there's a warning in terms of the payments, in terms of these payments and.

05:16

Time limited payments

Time limited payments. We're going to see the euro slide, as I said, in terms of this as well. And where's the money going to come from? It's going to come from in the form of another form of austerity. And remember, the Irish fiscal advisory council I came out of another European stability pact post the financial crash. Which again was to monitor government spending. And remember that same European Union during the time of the bailout with European Central Bank and.

IMF told us not to build public housing that precipitated the housing disaster here in Ireland. So, uh let's see how this develops over the next period of time, but more of the same shambles is at play in Ireland and this is just a drop in the ocean and one that doesn't the worsening crisis people are feeling with the cost of living disaster. It's more like a Punch and Judy show in all Ireland. What we really need to do is.

Take back our sovereignty so we can control the resources of our country for the good of the people, which is the same as what's happening in Whitegate oil refinery have been sold over to a private company and even Martin yesterday spoke about the fact that that private company said Canadian oil company Irving Oil said they would sell their oil in the international market rather than sell it to Ireland. And remember, this was built through public money and supported through.

Public money and sold off by the Fianna Fáil and Progressive Democrat government back in 2001 to this private American company at the time and then subsequently it's been sold to Irving Oil who pulled in about 150 million euros worth of profits back in 20 23. So, uh something should be taken this under public control because of the energy emergency, but there's no idea of these actually looking after our energy security. And as I said, many of these.

Directives that come down from the European Union are about pushing their agenda. So, uh thanks so much for support. Thanks for everybody who subscribed to my channel and from Dublin today, signing off. I'll see you soon. Bye-bye.

Government follows an IMF–ECB template as fuel protests force a no-confidence motion.

A week of fuel protests tips Ireland into political crisis — a no-confidence motion in the government meets a €500 million package of subsidies and excise cuts that Dooley calls a drop in the ocean. He argues the real story is sovereignty: Micheál Martin himself said the measures are “part of the template” proposed by the IMF and the European Central Bank, and under the EU's energy tax directive Ireland has, he says, “next to no sovereignty” over its own excise duty.
