Hello everyone
Hello everyone. Cancel culture and censorship are alive and well in Ireland right across the 32 counties. This latest situation I'd like to bring to you is around an event organized in West Belfast by the Women's Rights Network of Northern Ireland called Respect, Rights, and Reality. This was a discussion that was due to be held at Féile an Phobail. This is the people's festival that's been held in West Belfast since 1988.
But wait for it, Féile an Phobail are organized through government funding to the tune of 500,000 euro per year when you take the British sterling into consideration. Now, this is to promote the and to benefit the inhabitants of the West Belfast without distinction to age, sex, and race. So, they extol the virtues of equality or so they propose to push. But what they've done is, following an online campaign, decided to cancel this event. Absolutely remarkable. You really.
Could not make this up, but unfortunately, it's true. The Women's Rights Network are taking legal action and they're currently in the High Court in Belfast taking this case around getting the event reinstated. This was due to be held on August 4th and it was around single-sex spaces for women in terms of sport, domestic violence shelters, and toilets. And the sex space needs of women and girls should be put first. This is part of the agenda of the meeting.
And they welcomed a diverse audience to hear all sides of the conversation to what's taken place around biological sex and those discussions which are very real here in Ireland. Uh two, as I said, they welcome the diverse audience, they welcome the battle of ideas and a discussion in a respectful manner around which it takes place, respecting the dignity of all individuals. But what we have is a loud minority who organized on a social media platform, apparently Blue.
Sky, to try and counter this event to say it's hate speech and all this type of nonsense, rather than having an open and transparent discussion. But what that's what they want to do, shut down conversation and debate so they can pursue their agenda of identity politics, where somebody's rights are more superior to anybody else's in the context of men, perhaps uh in terms of claiming certain identities. And I very much live and let live, but at.
The same time, when you stop debate, stop discussion,
The same time, when you stop debate, stop discussion, and you try and cancel people, that is the wrong way to go around it, because this is what is driving this agenda. And many of those who are pushing this agenda have shown their true authoritarian colors. So much in terms of the north of Ireland that stood up for civil rights and stood up peacefully for many years in the north, standing up for basic civil rights in our society. Many will.
“And many of those who are pushing this agenda have shown their true authoritarian colors”
Remember the scenes what take place in Derry in terms of Bloody Sunday, and many were beaten and shot and killed on the streets because of standing up for basic civil rights. We remember the movements of many women in Ireland, too, looking for the right to vote, suffragette movement, and many more, as well, who stood up for basic women's rights. Now women are being ignored, so much for oppression. And now those who are claiming they're oppressed are now the ones who are the.
Oppressors. Uh pushing this agenda to try and cancel these events rather than have frank and open and honest discussions to what's taking place and annoying when it's basic reality, isn't it? If you can annoy reality, you can make people commit absurdities. I suppose that's what Voltaire said, but this is the madness that we're currently in in Ireland. And it's madness that this event is being canceled, especially an event that claims to have a diverse opinions, discussion events, and hopes.
To stamp out oppression. And particularly to some which legislation around so-called equality where we know it's anything but in terms of pursuing a certain agenda. So, hopefully sense will prevail and the event will be rescheduled. Up in that event up in West Belfast, which is held every year, large successful event. But again, you have to understand what's pursuing this agenda and who are pushing this, much the same in Ireland a couple of last year as well where events were trying to.
Be canceled to stand up for Irish culture, Irish heritage, and Irish history. And they want us as a globalist agenda to forget about it and to push it to the side and not remember our our so important Irish history and our culture and our heritage more now than ever as it's being eroded by the globalists. But again, as I said, they make you believe absurdities, they can make you believe commit atrocities according to Voltaire as well, the French.
